Corprate Profile
Inland Air Charters Ltd. has been operating from its Prince Rupert, British Columbia, Canada base in Seal Cove since 1980. The company was originally founded to serve the logging and fishing industries.
In 2006, veteran pilot Bruce Macdonald purchased the company. The operation thrives under his leadership, and when South Moresby Air Charters, a small airline based in the Queen Charlotte Islands/Haida Gwaii was offered for sale, it seemed a natural fit. Inland Air Charters purchased the company and merged the two operations.
Providing point-to-point charters from both the Prince Rupert and Queen Charlotte City operations, the company has further expanded its tourism products. Today, the company promotes flightseeing excursions from both locations, and is one of a handful of operators permitted to operate special charter destination tours in Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve and Haida Heritage Site.
The company employs approximately 12 people during peak summer season and its fleet consists of DHC-2 Beavers and Cessna 180 aircraft, selected for their particular suitability to coastal flying. The company continues to achieve a high standard of maintenance, which contributes to its outstanding safety record.
With more than three decades in the air, and half of them on the North Coast, President/Owner Bruce Macdonald understands the area and its special tourism appeal. An aggressive entrepreneur, he continues to oversee his successful daily operations and keeps an eye to the horizon and future opportunities.
